The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
by Andrea Elizabeth
In between real hiking, virtual hiking is pretty cool in The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. The realism and 3D graphics are amazing. You can see the veins in the leaves and hear the gravel crunch under your feet. The lake view is beautiful as well. The story is a bit disturbing and graphic, but the scenery and game play is worth it.
Many people found the story moving, but I think it’s more about victim self-pity and revenge, which are the pitfalls of victimhood. Still, it’s well done.
