I like rocks
by Andrea Elizabeth
Inspired by my trip to Big Bend, I’ve been watching documentaries on geology in the western United States. One of the things I’ve learned is that marble is melted limestone. I got that from Outdoor Idaho: Geology, A Convergence of Wonders. Plate tectonic shifts, huge volcanoes, earthquakes, and floods of Biblical proportions have shaped the wild western landscape. They say the floods came when lava and glacier dams eroded. I’ll have to look east to see if they show the same signs before I blame it all on Noah’s contemporaries.
