Strollin on the Water

by Andrea Elizabeth

I have recently gotten the message that admitting our weakness is a statement of identification. With it, we ask God’s strength. This association of properties is a little more dichotomous than I’m used to thinking. It’s adjusted from the idea that we pray for God to help make us strong. But are we ever in ourselves strong? I’m starting to think not. God doesn’t strengthen us to make us independent. Could Jesus ever teach Peter to walk on water by himself? Don’t think so. All Peter could do was direct his attention. Maybe that is the only power we are ever capable of.
