With one son on his way to his summer California internship, and the rest of us heading east to the Smokies to meet George’s family, I got to thinking about time zones, so I looked up a map. It seems to me that the different time zones are like different countries. I told George I thought it was because the sun shining at different times on people takes away something they would have had in common. He said it’s because of the difference in topography. The cliff and valley west coast is a lot different than the desolate rugged mountain zone and the central plains and the eastern hilly mountains. I like America.
